India’s First Children’s art Biennale
The Ekya Children’s Biennale is India’s first future focused Biennale led by children’s imagination. Across eight Bangalore campuses over two months, it is a living inquiry where young minds collaborate with artists, designers and makers.
Rooted in Ekya’s legacy of nurturing creativity, the Biennale gives children a stage to explore, question, and shape tomorrow through installations, workshops, and exhibitions.
The Ekya Children’s Biennale is where the future begins with their imagination.
Who Is this Biennale For?
For everyone who believes the future should be felt before it is built.
Children
The Biennale treats the child as a present artist, not a future audience. Children here do not illustrate assigned topics, they build installations, construct narratives and shape spatial environments.
Families & Educators
Parents and teachers enter the Biennale not to assess outcomes but to witness the process. Their role is relational i.e. to stand beside the child as a co-inquirer and recognise that the questions being asked are often larger than the answers expected.
The City
Bengaluru is invited to witness what an educational institution can be. The eight campuses are not peripheral to the city’s cultural life, for two months they are at its centre. The Biennale asks the city to trust that the most urgent cultural production is happening at Ekya Schools.
Seven futures
The Biennale does not ask children to illustrate the future. It asks them to build it through Nature, Machines, Memory, Cities, Ritual, Play and Connection.

What is the Ekya Children’s Biennale 2026?
It is India’s First Children’s Biennale in Bengaluru. Across eight Ekya campuses, children take the lead as artists, makers and storytellers, using art, design, technology, movement and play to explore bold ideas about the future.
How is it different from a regular art exhibition?
This is not an exhibition of children’s art. It is a biennale built by artists who happen to be children. Rather than simply displaying finished artworks, the Biennale brings together installations, performances, workshops, stories and interactive experiences shaped by children’s ideas.
What is the theme of the 2026 Biennale?
The central question is: What does the future feel like? Children respond to this question through creativity, imagination and experimentation, exploring futures that are already taking shape in their minds.
Is the Biennale only for children?
Children are at the centre of the Biennale, but the experience is open to everyone. Parents, families, educators, artists and visitors of all ages are invited to participate and experience the future through children’s eyes.
Are the experiences at each campus theme-based?
Yes. Each Ekya campus presents experiences connected to one or more of the seven creative lenses: Nature, Machines, Memory, Cities, Rituals and Culture, Play and Connection.
Why shouldn’t you miss it?
Children imagine freely, without waiting for permission. Their art is not simply a subject they learn, but a language through which they express ideas that words cannot always hold.
