Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and combat sport which involves various techniques to defend oneself from attacks . I have been doing this martial art for the past seven years and it has been a really interesting and fun – filled journey . I first started doing Taekwondo when I was six years old and I have continued doing this martial art ever since. And it has helped me learn a lot of important qualities and skills like self defence, resilience, self control, integrity and perseverance. I participated in my first competition when I was in blue belt, and it was a Poomsae event, and although I did not win any medal, I got a lot of learnings from this experience. And in my next competition I won a bronze medal in another Poomsae event. And since then I participated in both sparring and Poomsae events and I have won a lot of accolades. And recently I participated in the State Championship in the group Poomsae event, and I won a bronze medal. I also got my first Poom dan black belt this year.
My source of inspiration has always been my master Prasad sir who is a fourth dan black belt . I am really inspired by him because I aspire to teach this wonderful martial art to more and more students.
My parents have also played a major role by guiding and supporting me throughout this journey. My mother punctually drops and picks me up from Taekwondo class, no matter how tired she feels. Both my parents boost my confidence before a tournament by giving me a motivating pep talk. I am extremely grateful for my parents and teachers who have been guiding me on this journey all along.
This wonderful journey has not only shown me my self potential but has also helped me gain a lot of knowledge along the way!
