Introduction
Working at FLAVOUR LABS has been a truly unique experience for me compared to all othersthat I have had. Entering a working environment has made me feel excited yet intimidated by the situation. I was worried about myself being in an unfamiliar environment and not entirely comfortable in the process. But with time, things started to change as I began to learn new skills and understand myself better in this environment.
What Challenges I Faced
Among the many challenges that I encountered, one of the most difficult was communication. I am someone who thinks too much before I speak, particularly if I do not know what to say. In situations where I felt that I would ask too many questions or might make a mistake, I preferred staying silent rather than speaking out.
Designing Realistic Scenarios
What really captured my attention during my internship at FLAVOUR LABS is the connection of all these processes to real-life scenarios. The assignments done in school are more or less based on theories and are rarely applied in practical settings, but in the workplace, one gets to think and make decisions practically.
Mistakes and Learning
Of course, there were some mistakes that I made throughout this process, but truly, it was through those mistakes that I learned the most. One lesson I have learned is that being quiet about confusion makes everything difficult. In the past, I thought that asking questions will make me look like I do not know anything, but the truth is quite the opposite.
Teamwork and Collaboration
With the passage of time, I felt more at ease while dealing with people. I discovered that teamwork was essential for the workplace since everyone works together in a team. Good communication, idea exchange, and cooperation among individuals were crucial for getting things done. Witnessing people working together also gave me an insight into the importance of Teamwork.
Skills I Learnt
These experiences allowed me to develop several skills which are essential both in practical life as well as in academics. I was able to enhance my ability to communicate, to be adaptable, to work in teams, manage time effectively, and solve problems.
Understanding People and Psychology
Another fascinating insight I gained from my experience was how varied individuals’ thoughts and behaviors can be. Some individuals tend to be more direct in their communication, whereas others may be introverts. Everyone has his/her own method for solving any problem.
Real World Impact
The workplace setting has taught me the difference between practical learning and academic learning. While in schools, we emphasize grades and theoretical knowledge, the workplace emphasizes practical application of knowledge. The impact that my work had on the real world made my learning more significant and more interesting.
Personal Growth
In my opinion, this experience was beneficial for me. First of all, I found out that I can adapt more quickly than I believed myself to be able to do. Furthermore, I developed independence and responsibility. What is even more important, I understood that I like learning things in practice better than by just reading books.
Applying School Learning
It was observed that some of what we learn in school does come in handy at work, especially when it comes to self-discipline, teamwork, and deadline completion. However, one also needs practical thinking skills at work, which may not be adequately instilled during classroom Teaching.
Reflections on Education
After having this experience, I truly believe that schools should concentrate more on practical knowledge and real-life experiences. These skills should be taught to students early on because they are very crucial in the corporate world and our daily lives.
Conclusion
In general, working at FLAVOUR LABS has been a fruitful learning process for me, one that allowed me not only to learn more about the way businesses run but also to get useful lessons on communication, confidence, accountability, and flexibility. It helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses. However, most of all, it provided me with invaluable experience that will help me succeed in the future.
