Ekya’s engaging Math program, based on the Singapore Math Methodology, develops a positive attitude towards numbers. Students develop a deep understanding of concepts, enabling them to solve problems creatively and confidently. Building upon a strong foundation, the Senior School program deepens critical thinking through advanced exploration, preparing them for future academic challenges. Through a blend of conceptual understanding and practical applications, we empower students to become mathematically proficient and confident lifelong learners, ready to tackle real-world problems.

Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) Progression

This three-step learning process begins with concrete experiences using physical objects, moves to pictorial representations, and transitions to abstract symbols and numbers.

  • Develops strong conceptual understanding by linking tangible experiences to abstract ideas. 
  • Makes learning more intuitive and less reliant on rote memorisation. 
  •  Encourages deep understanding through hands-on, concrete experiences. 
  • Helps students to move from concrete to abstract representations of mathematical concepts.

Focus on Mastery

 Emphasises in-depth understanding of fewer mathematical concepts, allowing students to master each topic before moving on.

In Ekya we use mathematical tools like Math Manipulatives (physical and virtual), Error Analysis, and Critique, Correct, and Clarify to enhance students’ understanding and engagement in mathematics.
