OUR PROCESS

The Ekya curriculum is designed based on the Understanding by Design (UbD) Framework, making ‘understanding’ the key to learning ‘by design.’ The curriculum is benchmarked against international standards and utilises research-based pedagogy, guiding us to plan meaningful learning experiences focused on conceptual understanding, skill-building, and aiding students in developing their metacognitive abilities.

Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in all learning areas.

Learn

Ekya is a community of children, educators, and parents where everyone learns together.

At Ekya, thinking requires two important components: connect and enquire. By connecting with each other and the world around them, students gain a deeper understanding of complex issues. Enquiring allows students to ask important questions and challenge assumptions. Consequently, our learners think independently, explore new ideas, and develop their unique perspectives.

At Ekya, the key aspects of our approach are to create, care, collaborate, and communicate. These skills encourage students to be creative and innovative problem solvers, to care for themselves and others, to work collaboratively towards common goals, and to communicate effectively.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The Design and Innovation program for Grades 11 & 12, focuses on effectively introducing learners to the world of design- its fundamentals, relevant fields, and observing surroundings- objects, services and experiences to critique and explore methods of inventing/ reinventing to problem solve.

Students will be introduced to a variety of media and techniques, skills- sketching, digital mediums, mixed media representations, effective communication, self-management, etc. This program will also introduce and promote socially responsible practices of solving problems within the Sustainable Development Goals, UN.

The Science Program is designed based on a three-dimensional approach to learning Science. We nurture a fascination with the natural world, guiding students to explore scientific principles and phenomena. The curriculum focuses on a deeper understanding of science concepts, active, hands-on learning of Science, application of concepts, and integration of science and engineering design principles and processes to solve real-world problems.

The Life Skills program equips students with the essential skills to make informed decisions, manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and thrive in an ever-changing world.

ASSESSMENT

We conduct several assessments throughout the year to test the knowledge of our students and keep a check on their learning pulse. We prioritize practical application of learning over reproduction of facts.
We are sensitive to any learning gaps that may arise in our students and work through to bridging the gap by giving them the attention that they need.
